More Information

The Scouts Adventurous Activity Permit Scheme is recognised by both Scouting and Girlguiding*, so this camp provides an opportunity for all SSAGOers to learn a new, valuable skill and have something to take back to your sections and districts. This camp provides a convenient one-stop shop to work towards getting the technical competency section of your permit (we can't guarantee it, but we hope everyone should pass).

We anticipate the base fees to be around £25-30 per person (including food and camping, see the Fee Breakdown) and then the permit assessment will be at an additional cost. You are not expected to cover the cost, and should talk to your Scout District/County or Guide equivalent to ask if they can help fund it. It is not unreasonable to ask them to cover the cost of travel and/or the base fee. The Committee will try to support you talking to your District/County wherever possible, if needed.

We hope to offer the following permits over the weekend:

  • Archery
  • Shooting
  • Climbing
  • Full 16-Hour First Aid
  • Minibus Driving

You can find more details about each permit on the Permits page.
